¡Hola a todos! Si ustedes como yo aman la lectura, sabrán que llega un momento en el que nos llenamos de libros que difícilmente volveremos a tocar. Ya sea porque fueron para una materia en la escuela, nos lo regaló alguien que no estaba al tanto de nuestros gustos literarios o simplemente aparecieron en el librero, hay un punto en el que toca sacarlos de la biblioteca para darle espacio a otro ejemplar.
¿Pero a dónde llevar esos libros sobrantes? Tirarlos a la basura es un sacrilegio y a veces venderlos se puede tornar difícil y no nos garantiza recuperar nuestra inversión. Lucy, administradora de Angelic Instruments se topó con este dilema y decidió organizar trueques de libros en la Ciudad de México.
Hello there! If you like me love to read, you know there comes a time when we are filled with books that we will hardly touch again. Either because they were for a subject in school, were a gift of someone who was not aware of our literary tastes or just appeared on the shelf, there is a point where we need to make some space.
But where to take these remaining books? Throwing them away is sacrilege and sometimes it may become difficult to sell and that does not guarantee us to recover our investment. Lucy, manager of Angelic Instruments ran into this dilemma and decided to organize books exchanges in Mexico City.
El sábado pasado se llevó a cabo el séptimo intercambio y afortunadamente encontré el anuncio a tiempo para prepararme. Sabía que existían dinámicas parecidas, pero eran espontáneas y para buena suerte este es un evento continuo. Seleccionar los libros que pasarían a otras manos fue difícil y creo que me faltó sacar más, pero eso será en la siguiente edición. Toda la organización fue vía Facebook, donde los participantes tenían la opción de anunciar los ejemplares que llevarían y encontrar un interesado en hacer trueque lo más pronto posible para el día de reunión sólo intercambiar libros.
Last Saturday the seventh exchange was held and fortunately I had time to prepare my books. I found similar dynamics before, but were spontaneous and this is an ongoing event. The entire organization was via Facebook, where participants had the option to announce their books so they can find exchanges as soon as possible.

Incluso para los títulos que pensé que nadie me cambiaría, encontré interesados. El intercambio se llevó a cabo en el Monumento a Gandhi, en Chapultepec.
Even for the titles I thought nobody would change with me I found people interested.
The dynamic was very simple. Negotiate trades was not very difficult and the assistants were very kind and friendly.
Platicando con Lucy también me enteré que Angelic Instruments también organiza funciones de cine y tours a ferias del libro, siempre manteniendo un ambiente agradable para todos y libre de poses tipo "yo leo mejores libros que tú" o frases parecidas.
Lucy told me about another events Angelic Instruments hosts, like film screenings and tours to book fairs, while maintaining a pleasant environment for everyone. That's a very good point.
Mi botín de regreso: Libros que ya había cazado desde hace tiempo y nuevas adquisiciones sin gastar un sólo peso. Ya les estaré contando qué tal está.
