¡Hola a todos! Todavía recuerdo mis días de weeaboo cuando hacía cosplay e iba a convenciones. En ese entonces las dos convenciones principales de la Ciudad de México eran la TNT en Tlatelolco y La Mole en Expo Reforma. TNT llegó a cambiar momentáneamente de sede al WTC por algunas ediciones pero volvió a Tlatelolco mientras que La Mole se quedó en Expo Reforma hasta que cambiaron de rubro a La Mole Comic Con, tomando también como sede al WTC. Con el cambio de nombre vino el enfoque al cómic y los invitados internacionales. Además de cosplayers, empezaron a traer dibujantes y actores, lo que abrió la oferta al público en general. Uno de los puntos más fuertes de la convención es el Artist Alley donde se reúnen talentos de la ilustración, cómic y novela gráfica mexicana y he tomado como costumbre visitarlo cada año para apoyar a mis artistas favoritos. Aquí les cuento un poco de la misión de este año.
Hello everyone! I still remember my weeaboo days when I cosplayed and went to conventions. At that time, the main conventions of Mexico City were TNT in Tlatelolco and La Mole in Expo Reforma. TNT temporarily changed location to WTC for some editions but returned to Tlatelolco while La Mole stayed at Expo Reforma until it changed its name to La Mole Comic Con and changed location to WTC too. With the change of name they also changed their approach to comic and started to bring international guests. In addition to cosplayers, actors and cartoonist came too. One of the strongest points of the convention is the Artist Alley, where the talents of illustration, comics and the Mexican graphic novel meet, and I like to visit it every year to support my favorite artist and friends.
La oferta en el Artist Alley se supera año con año y en esta edición mi cartera sí salió lastimada pero valió completamente la pena. Aunque el evento dura tres días, decidí asistir desde el viernes pues algunas cosas suelen agotarse. Además, el viernes hay precio especial para 2 personas por 400 pesos, así que les paso el dato. Empecemos con el recorrido:
The offer in the Artist Alley is awesome year after year and in this edition my wallet did get hurt but it was completely worth it. Although the event lasts three days, I decided to attend on Friday because some things tend to run out. Also, on Friday there is a special price for 2 people for 400 mexican pesos. Cada que veo una pieza de ella no me puedo creer tanta belleza, la atención a los detalles es impresionante, actualmente se encuentra produciendo pines y camisas.

Monitos Bonitos: Conocí a Monitos Bonitos el año pasado y me hice fan. El nombre de la marca lo dice todo:

BeMyTwyn: La colección actual de Rodolfo Serrano está basada en animales mexicanos en peligro de extinción como el lobo gris, teporingo, jaguar, oso negro, tapir y el cacomixtle, como el de este print. Me pareció un gesto fantástico y es la primera vez que veo una ilustración de un cacomixtle, así que tuve que llevármelo a casa:
The current collection of Rodolfo Serrano is based on Mexican animals in danger of extinction such as the gray wolf, teporingo, jaguar, black bear, tapir and the cacomixtle, like this print. I thought it was a fantastic gesture and it's the first time I see an illustration of a cacomixtle, so I had to take it home:
Chico Tabla: Los colores brillantes y la cultura pop son elementos frecuentes en su obra. Esta planilla de stickers basados en Sailor Moon fue amor a primera vista.
Bright colors and pop culture are frequent elements in his work. This sheet of stickers based on Sailor Moon was love at first sight.
Palmira Campaña: A ellos no los conocía y en esta edición llevaron stickers basados en las cartas del tarot ¡Su trabajo monocrómático es bellísimo!

Usaka Cómics: Ellos se dedican a la impresión de varias historias originales, entre ellas “La búsqueda del hurón” que trata sobre un chico que quiere un hurón como mascota y las aventuras que pasa para obtenerlo. Tenía que traer conmigo esta planilla de stickers promocional de la historia pues me recuerda mucho a Bandido:
They are dedicated to the printing of several original stories, including "The Search for the Ferret" which is the story of a boy who wants a ferret as a pet and the adventures he goes through to get it. I had to bring this promotional stickers of the story with me because it reminds me a lot of Bandido:

Isadora Zeferino y Gabriel Picolo: Ellos son artistas brasileños que fueron invitados especiales. No conocía su trabajo pero me alegra haber tenido la oportunidad de verlo de cerca, fueron muy amables y cálidos con el público y espero regresen en otra ocasión:
They are Brazilian artists who were special guests. I did not know their work but I'm glad I had the chance to see it up close. They were so funny and kind, I hope they come back soon!
